Lewis Sommerville is a Pittsburgh-based tattooer and illustrator with a focus on engraving and blackwork-styled projects. Born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey, he is the son of two fine artists. He has always had a fascination with art, specifically tattooing, although opted to attend the University of Pittsburgh following high school. He went on to graduate in 2020 with degrees in both Chemistry and Anthropology, although ultimately re-discovered his love of illustration and tattooing and began his apprenticeship in 2022 under mentor Angel O’Connor at Empire Tattoo, Pittsburgh. Currently, he remains at Empire Tattoo, continuing to refine his designs and skills as a tattooer and illustrator.
